High-Bay LED Lighting for Warehouses

Lighting is one of the largest energy expenses in a warehouse or distribution center. Metal halide and fluorescent high-bay fixtures that were standard 10–15 years ago are now significantly less efficient than modern LED alternatives. A high-bay LED conversion typically reduces lighting energy consumption by 50–60% while delivering better light levels and dramatically lower maintenance costs.

We perform a photometric analysis for every warehouse lighting project to ensure proper foot-candle levels throughout the facility, including dock areas, storage aisles, mezzanines, and office areas. OSHA requires minimum lighting levels for different work areas, and we design systems that meet or exceed these requirements.

LED high-bay fixtures last 50,000+ hours. For a warehouse running lights 16 hours a day, that's nearly 9 years before the first lamp replacement, compared to 1–2 years for metal halide. Eliminating lamp replacement labor and the cost of maintaining inventory of replacement lamps adds significantly to the total cost savings.

EV Fleet Charging Infrastructure

The shift to electric delivery vehicles is accelerating, and distribution centers need to plan their electrical infrastructure accordingly. A fleet of 20 electric delivery vans charging simultaneously requires significant panel capacity, often 200–400A of additional service just for charging.

We design and install EV fleet charging infrastructure that scales with your fleet. This includes panel capacity analysis, service entrance upgrades if needed, dedicated circuits for each charging station, and coordination with charging equipment vendors (ChargePoint, Blink, Tesla, and others) on installation specifications.

Planning EV infrastructure now, even if you're only deploying a few vehicles initially, avoids costly electrical upgrades later. We design systems with expansion capacity built in, so adding more charging stations as your fleet grows is straightforward.

Frequently Asked Questions

Warehouses typically need high-bay lighting, 3-phase power for material handling equipment, dock door electrical, conveyor system power, and adequate panel capacity for operations. Distribution centers often add EV fleet charging infrastructure and backup power systems.
Yes. Coastline Electric Inc. has worked on Amazon distribution facilities and has experience with the electrical requirements of large-scale logistics operations, including high-bay lighting, dock equipment power, and the safety and compliance standards required by major logistics companies.
LED high-bay fixtures are the standard for modern warehouse lighting. They deliver better light levels than metal halide or fluorescent high-bays while using 50–60% less energy and lasting 50,000+ hours. We perform a photometric analysis to ensure proper foot-candle levels throughout your facility.
Yes. We design and install Level 2 and DC fast charging infrastructure for commercial delivery fleets, including the panel upgrades and dedicated circuits required to support multiple simultaneous charging stations. We coordinate with charging equipment vendors on installation specifications.
We schedule disruptive work (panel shutdowns, major circuit installations) during off-hours or planned maintenance windows. We use temporary lighting and power where needed to maintain operations, and we coordinate with your operations team to minimize impact on productivity.
Yes. We install generator transfer switches, automatic transfer switches, and standby generator connections for warehouses and distribution centers. Backup power is particularly important for cold storage facilities and operations that cannot tolerate power interruptions.
Loading dock electrical includes dock leveler power (typically 208V or 240V single-phase), dock light circuits, vehicle restraint system power, and sometimes dock door heater circuits. We install and maintain all dock electrical systems to manufacturer specifications.
